Edgewood Tahoe Resort is Hiring a Marketing Manager Near Stateline, NV

Position Summary:
The Marketing Manager executes and supports all the marketing activities for Edgewood Tahoe’s world-class offerings. They manage the day to day correspondence with resort team members and agency representatives to ensure proper direction to execute initiatives for the optimal guest experience. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, excellent organization and communication skills, the ability to work within tight deadlines and is comfortable working independently. Successful candidates are also innovative, energetic, and highly creative; they demand nothing less than the best and possess excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills. Self-motivation is critical to this position. Technical experience for website, email, digital advertising and lodging and yield systems is desirable.

Essential Functions:
  • Designs and executes marketing plans, programs, events and services, both short and long range, to support each of the revenue generating activities at the resort and ensure the profit growth and expansion of products, programs, services and facilities.
  • Provides excellent guest service to internal and external guests.
  • Coordinates regularly with all the various outlets to support marketing needs and to ensure effective and efficient operations are in place to meet guest service standards.
  • Coordinates with consultants retained by the company to provide public relations, marketing, and communications for the resort.
  • Establishes marketing goals to ensure attainment of targeted yields, market share, incremental revenue and overall profitability of events and campaigns.
  • Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
  • Represent the resort in the destination marketing programs of South Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, the Gaming Alliance and other similar groups and potential marketing partners.
  • Develop and execute email campaigns to both internal databases and external acquisition lists to ensure and test open rates and measure effectiveness through booking and arrival. Focusing on ‘need periods’ during the year to drive additional occupancy and resort revenue. 
  • Create content and update the resort website to ensure accuracy and bookability of all revenue generating departments.
  • Plans and oversees the advertising and promotion activities including traditional advertising and all digital media channels. Monitors media plan and billing for the resort based on agreed terms and budget. 
  • Oversees and manages all resort events and works closely with the Marketing Coordinator to remain on budget and deliver epic experiences for our guests. 
  • Coordinates and manages all on property media visits, influencer trips and professional photo shoots. Reviews and directs the goals and deliverables as outlined in the agreements to ensure that the resort is represented to maintain our reputation of high standards.
  • Reviews and sets direction for the resort’s social media platforms and reputations and assists with post scheduling to support the Marketing Coordinator. Also, can assist in resort reputation management through internal guest survey applications. 
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
Qualifications / Special Skills:
  • BA degree in Marketing or related field (journalism, public relations, advertising, or business). 
  • Minimum five years related experience in resort or recreation marketing which encompassed all facets of sales and marketing program development and implementation, including two years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A successful record in achieving revenue targets is also required. Direct ski, golf, or facilities resort marketing experience is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in luxury hospitality marketing.
  • Ability to use computer hardware, software, and electronic systems currently in use or similar to those used on the job.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, persuasive, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference for development of marketing programs and promotions, rate structures, yield management, and sales projections. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions within delegated authorities and time pressures.
  • Demonstrated planning, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Must have Nevada or California Driver’s License or equivalent.
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
